New Pricing & Carton Announcement!
Hello, Creambrook Friends!
Today you are faced with a ton of choices to make in regard to your food: ever-increasing pricing with smaller packaging, confusing labels, varied views on sustainability and ethics, and ever-changing media articles on what food is good for you or not. It is exhausting!! Kristen and I feel this tension every time we go to the grocery store, and we seem to be always reevaluating our food purchases.
It should not be this hard! At Creambrook, we are excited to help make your dairy choice as easy as possible. Several changes are coming into effect in the next few weeks that will dramatically change your experience with Creambrook raw milk.
Packaging: Beginning sometime in the next few weeks, all Creambrook raw milk shares will be packaged and delivered in 64oz milk cartons that are BPA and PFAS free! (and can be recycled!)
The cartons will have an easy access twist top cap that parents with small children will love. The cartons will allow for more space savings in your fridge and provide a pleasant greeting from your real heroes (the Jersey cows!) every time you open your refrigerator door.
Our cartons will be 64oz, a true half gallon. More and more companies are packaging in 59oz cartons and charging you the full amount. We refuse to short you in this manner and want you to have the full value! The cartons can also be recycled or used for other in-house sustainability projects.
If you currently receive more than a half gallon a week, your account will automatically be adjusted to reflect the new number of cartons needed to meet your share number. (For example: if you currently receive 1 gallon per week, your account will automatically be adjusted to 2 half gallons.) More details to come, so please stay tuned!
Pricing: We have highly invested in our new creamery location, carton filler, and milk hauling. This has been done with the goal of making a better, more affordable product for you!
The new herd share price will be $6.99 per carton per week once we transition to all half gallon cartons (effective date to be announced). Yes, you read that right!
We want to make raw milk accessible and as affordable for as many Virginians as possible. For far too long, raw milk has been priced to where it can only be a novelty. We see the value nutritionally that raw milk provides for you and want to make it as accessible as possible. Safety: In addition to the new pricing and packaging, we have also enhanced our testing processes. In addition to our on-farm bacteria population tests we have done since day one, as well as third-party pathogen testing, we are now testing all of our milk for pathogens from a third-party lab. We want you to have complete peace of mind about the quality and safety of Creambrook raw milk. We have small children too and our household consumes well over a gallon a day; so like you, we are invested in the safety of the product.
Convenience and customer experience: This year, we will be trialing new systems to increase your ability to easily and conveniently access your milk and your accounts. This will be a work-in-progress, but we believe it is time for raw milk to be a simple process and not the clunky challenging systems we have all grown accustomed to in Virginia.
